Hotel Fasano Rio de Janeiro - Our review
One of Brazil's premier luxury boutique hotels, the hotel Fasano Rio opened in 2007 and is the first project entirely designed by Philippe Starck. The design is both modern and efficient, and attention to every sleek, gorgeous detail is apparent in every corner. The hotel Fasanrio Rio is ideally located at the Arpoador end of Ipanema beach – the hippiest beach in Rio - just steps away from the excellent shopping and dining options of Rua Visconde de Piraja.
The rooms provide quiet and tranquil escapes from Rio's wild side with their fantastic beds and white marble bathrooms. Each room features sumptuous hardwood floors, private balconies, 300-count Egyptian cotton sheets, white goose down pillows, and complementary Ipanema flip-flops. And if you're looking for a real treat, the 130 sqm (1,399 sqft) Deluxe Suite Ocean Front offers a spacious 33 sqm (359 sqft) private terrace, iconic signature furniture, luminous marble bathrooms, and individual rainshowers with ocean views.
The rooftop pool is the property's true treasure, and likely the best place in town to watch the sunset. The hotel also provides an outstanding dining option with the the Fasano Al Mare (the Fasano family being originally known as restaurateurs), and superb and fully equipped facilities with a state-of-the-art fitness and business centers. And if you prepare to make it a late night, you can hit the Baretto-Londra, Fasano's nightclub Madonna made famous.
